EdPerformance Testing Instructions

revised 2/19/08

  1. Open an Internet browser, such as Windows Explorer.

  2. Type in  http://www.edperformance.com/

  3. Once you reach the website, be sure to turn off any pop-up blockers. On your toolbar click on “Tools” and then “Pop-Up Blocker” and select “Turn Off Pop-Up Blocker”.  When your student has completed their testing session you can then go back in and turn the pop-up blocker on again.

  1. Click on the subject area for the test your student will be taking:

                  + Reading

                  + Language Arts

                  + Mathematics

  1. Enter Site ID for Golden Valley Charter:  51-7262-3719

  2. Enter your GVCS student ID # -- ask your ES if you aren’t sure of this number

  3. Have your student read the test instructions carefully.

  4. Be sure your student can test in a quiet, undisturbed area without other family members, pets or other distractions such as television, radio, telephone, etc… for at least 30 – 40 minutes.  The following types of interactions will not help the student and should be avoided during testing:

·        Helping students with words or problems that are too difficult for them

·        Talking with other adults who may enter the room

·        Suggesting test-taking techniques

·        Reading any part of the reading passages to the student

·        Helping students narrow their answer choices

·        Reminding your student of the time

·        Providing any help with reading passages or question content or meaning

·        Allowing other students who have finished the test to stay in the room, wander around and/or talk with others that have finished

·        Hovering over the student as s/he is testing.  Avoid facial expressions and body language that may indicate a correct or incorrect answer.

  1. When your student has completed the subject test, they will be asked if they want to take another test.  If they decide to stop at this point, simply close out the EdPerformance webpage.  Be sure and re-activate your pop-up blockers after your testing session is over.

  1.  Students must complete all three subject area tests – Reading, Language Arts and Math during the testing window of March 1-March 31.

  1. Questions can be referred to your ES or to Claudia Weintraub, Assessment Coordinator. Claudia can be reached at the Ventura office at (805) 642-3435 or via email at claudiaweintraub@sbcglobal.net
