First Day Of Attendance

 revised 7/13/07

The first day of attendance must be the same on the Master Student Agreement, the Attendance Rollsheet and the learning records.  Please be sure that the first day of attendance is the same throughout all your record keeping.

Included here are the guidelines for determining the first day of attendance for each student:

-The first day of attendance for any student may not precede the date of the signatures on the Master Student Agreement.  In certain cases, it may be after that date, but never before.

-The "contract begins" date on the Master Student Agreement is the same date as the first day of attendance on the first learning record and the first Attendance Rollsheet.

-The first day of attendance must be a school day.

-This first day of attendance with GVCS may not be prior to the student’s disenroll date from any other public or private school.

-The first day of attendance should not be a "zero" day of attendance, an absence marked as an 0.

-Master Student Agreements and other enrollment paperwork may be signed in anticipation of the commencement of attendance in GVCS.  If you meet with a family and sign paperwork BEFORE the first day of school, the first day of attendance will be the first day of the school year, not the day you meet with the family.

If you meet with a family and sign paperwork after the first day of the school year, the first day of attendance is the same day you sign the paperwork.  In the case of an enrollment meeting on a weekend or during a school break/holiday, then the first day of documented attendance will be the next school day following the enrollment meeting.

A student will be considered enrolled as of the date that all correct documentation is signed by the parent.  If you must return to a parent to re-sign papers, the first day of attendance cannot precede the day that all correct documentation is signed.  The first day of attendance must be a school day, either on or after the date that these correct documents are signed.
