Algebra 1 Graduation Requirement

revised 5/29/07

Algebra 1 is a requirement for graduation from Golden Valley Charter School.  Algebra 1 is often taken in the 8th grade.  In order to satisfy the graduation requirement, students may complete algebra 1 in the 8th grade or during high school.  Only Algebra 1 completed in grades 9-12 will be awarded high school credit towards meeting the 20 credit math graduation requirement.  High school students may choose to meet this requirement with an a-g or regular catalog course or with an approved community college algebra 1 course.  For a listing of standards and topics to be covered in an Algebra 1 course, visit http://www.cde.ca.gov/be/st/ss/mthalgebra1.asp.
