K-8 High School Credit Approval Process

If an ES has a student who wishes to earn high school credit for work completed prior to 9^th grade, s/he will need to request approval from the Director.

The process –

1.   ES learns of student interested in getting high school credit for work prior to 9^th grade.  If an 8th grade student is taking a course that seems as though it might be eligible for high school credit, please discuss this as a possibility with the parent. This conversation must take place before or right at the beginning of the semester.

2.   ES reviews High School Credit Policy for K-8 Students. 

3.   ES completes Request for High School Credit for an Eighth Grade Student form.

4.   ES submits form the to school office.

5.   Director will review the information and inform the ES of her decision.

6.   If approved, ES submits Course Selections form and, if necessary for created courses, supporting documentation, within the appropriate timeframe for that semester.
