GVCS Field Trip 2007-2008

Quality West Wing Oval Office Tour

 

Golden Valley Charter School is sponsoring 5 Field Trips for the 2007-2008 school year.  The second of these field trips will be to the Quality West Wing Oval Office, located in Corona, CA.  The tour is approximately 1 hour in duration and will include:

·        A film describing the obstacles our founding fathers overcame to establish our government

·        Tests and puzzles to challenge student's knowledge of our government and its structure

·        Biographies describing the lives of famous Presidents

·        A detailed scale model of Capitol Hill including our famous monuments

·        Detailed replicas depicting the interiors of the House, Senate & Supreme Court buildings in session

·        The Oval Office - the highlight of the tour. The Oval Office will take your breath away!

When:               Tuesday, December 4th, 2007 1 - 2 p.m. (please arrive by 12:45 for check-in)

 

Who:                Grades 4 – 12

 

Cost:                FREE

 

In order to sign up for this field trip, the following information must be received in our office by November 9th, 2007:

 

1.  Completed Field Trip Permission Slip

2.  Completed Volunteer/Employee Vehicle Usage Form (ONLY if driving children other than your own)

We must receive all required forms for your application to be considered complete.  This Field Trip has a limit of 50 persons.  In the event that we receive more applications than space available, a lottery will be held.  Names will be drawn and you will receive notice from the office as to your status.

 

Important Notes:

  • All Students must be accompanied by an adult 21 years of age.  Only 1 parent per family allowed.

  • You must provide your own transportation.  GVCS will not be responsible for transportation.

  • Anyone arriving the day of the tour not on the list will not be allowed in.

  • No babies, toddlers, strollers allowed please.  Only those students/parents chosen and enrolled at GVCS will be allowed on the tour.
