GVCS Field Trip 2007-2008 Page Museum at the La Brea Tarpits
Golden Valley Charter School is sponsoring 5 field trips for the 2007-2008 school year. The fourth of these field trips will be to the Page Museum at the La Brea Tarpits, located in Los Angeles, CA. The tour is 1 hour in duration and will include a 15 minute film entitled “The La Brea Story”. After the film, the tour will allow students to find out what Los Angeles was like 10,000 to 40,000 years ago, and discover most of the prehistoric creatures that lived here! You will see the laboratory, learn about paleontology, and experience how sticky tar really is with a hands-on-activity.

When: Wednesday, February 27th, 2008 11 – 12 p.m. (please arrive by 10:45 for check-in)
Who: Grades 3 – 12
Cost: FREE
Parking: $8.00 – You will receive $2.00 back with validation (GVCS will not pay for parking)
In order to sign up for this field trip, the following information must be received in our office by January 31st, 2008:
1. Completed Field Trip Permission Slip 2. Completed Volunteer/Employee Vehicle Usage Form (ONLY if driving children other than your own)

We must receive all required forms for your application to be considered complete. This field trip has a limit of 60 persons. You will be divided into groups of 20, but families will be kept together. In the event that we receive more applications than space available, a lottery will be held. Names will be drawn and you will receive notice from the office as to your status.
