Terri Schiavone, Executive Director
Terri has been working in the charter school field since 1995, first as an EF and then as GVCS's Founder and Executive Director in 2001. While her family will always remain her most important passion and priority, her other passions include a love for the ocean and ocean creatures. Although she loves looking at the ocean, you will find that she spends most of her free time in the ocean either swimming, snorkeling, stand up paddling, or Hawaiian outrigger canoe paddling. She is forever on a quest to interact with dolphins, turtles, and whales in the great deep sea.
Meg Rydman, Director of Education
Meg has worked for GVCS since 2001, serving first as an EF and Advisor before moving into her current role. Meg lives in the Santa Ynez Valley with her husband, Christopher, and two sons, Jack and Everett. Wendy Hand-Hogan, Curriculum & Assessment Coordinator
Wendy graduated with a BS in Business Administration and an Elementary Teaching Credential. She has worked in public and private education since 1997 and is an advocate for personalized learning. She lives in Santa Clarita with her husband and three busy teenagers. She has been with GVCS since 2011 as an Education Facilitator, Curriculum & Assessment Coordinator, and a partner with parents, students, and EFs for High School Guidance. She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, playing tennis, and watching her children grow, discover, and take on the world.
Cynthia Peterson, Advisor
Cindi has been with GVCS since 2002 and is in her twenty-sixth year in education, having served in private, public traditional, and now charter homeschool settings. She is a graduate of Wheaton College (IL), Purdue University (IN), and has her Masters in Educational Administration from Pepperdine University. She feels GVCS is one of the best run charter schools in California and is supportive of parent choice in educating the child. Cindi enjoys many interests, including visiting family in Ohio, writing, the outdoors, photography, reading, and renovating their 100-year old bungalow home. She lives with her husband, the big dog, and two housemates in the San Gabriel Valley area of Los Angeles County.
Cheryl Scudder, Advisor
Cheryl has worked in the realm of personalized learning charter schools since 1999 and for Golden Valley Charter since 2004. She has taught in the classroom, as well as experienced homeschooling her own children. When she isn't working, she loves to spend time with her family, is involved in church activities, enjoys reading and, like Winnie the Pooh, is always looking for the next grand adventure! My name is Wendy Theobald. I have worked as an EF for Golden Valley Charter School since 2004. I love working with my GV students/families. It is a pleasure to work for a school with such wonderful and professional teachers/staff. Before working for GV I worked as a high school math teacher for 8 years and so of course, I love math. When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my family. We love to visit amusement parks, the beach or just hang out and watch a movie.
Stephanie Janes, Executive Assistant
Stephanie graduated with a BS in Business Administration and minor in Psychology. Upon graduation, she took a position in the corporate world where she remained for 8 years. Seeking a better work/life balance, Stephanie joined GVCS in 2009. She lives in Ventura with her husband and two young children. Stephanie enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and teaching Pilates. She also loves anything related to USC football!
Lori Llorence, Office Support CoordinatorLori has been with GVCS since 2005. She lives in Fillmore, CA with her husband of 24 years. She is most happy when spending time with her son and family Texas, and enjoys traveling to new places in the Caribbean.
Mary Deyo, Administrative Assistant
Mary has been with Golden Valley since 2015. She served 10 years in sales for a company in Michigan and has recently relocated to California with her husband to be near their two children, four grandchildren, Mary’s two brothers and their families. She loves theater, art, music and the wonderful California weather.
